Lathay Pegues

Outstanding Community Cleanup

Lathay organized and led two major beautification and clean-up days in the Whitely community in July. One was in mid-July, the other toward the end of the month. Volunteers picked up trash, used mowers and weed whips, etc to take care of overgrown fence lines, corner islands on MLK across the street from McCullough Park. People lent their equipment and used their own equipment on these projects. Many people got together to help. Besides working together, they also shared a meal afterward. For the second work day, Lahody’s donated food and Pit Master Bluebird and Sons did the grilling. Lathay has a lot of photos from these days on his Facebook page!
